My Kaly is still hanging in there.
We've been giving her 2 liters of IV fluids every day and she's holding her own - for now. We are cherishing every day that we have with her; knowing that tomorrow could be the last.
Here in DC, it's the coldest it's been in over 20 years. The temperature on my computer says it is 3 degrees. THREE DEGREES?! Is that even a real temperature?
I received a call from my new endocrinologist yesterday and we're tweaking my thyroid medicine again. My TSH is down to 3.4 and she said if I weren't trying to get pregnant, that would be fine. But, when I do get pregnant, the dosage typically needs to be increased by 1/3 so we're just anticipating that result. Isn't that refreshing?
I'm still planning to begin IVF #2 at the end of this month but the timing needs to work out just right. With all of Kaly's vet bills (to date, I think we're over $5,000), we've depleted our savings so I need our tax return to buy the meds. I would need to have it back by Valentine's Day so I could have the stim drugs in time.
We'll see how it all turns out.

just wanted to wish you lots of luck with ivf #2. I hope the $ end of it all works out for you, so you don't have to worry.
I'm glad to hear that Kaly is hanging in there.
Not to 'one up you' but yesterday this area saw temps (with the wind chill) that were -28 degrees. Really. How is that possible??? And to think I chose to move back here!
Hugs to you and your sweet Kaly.
I hope all goes great with IVF#2. The money for this stuff is such a PITA.
Forget I mentioned that we have all of our windows open today. (-; Yes, you can roll your eyes and hate me now. (For the record I served my cold weather time too).
So glad to hear Kaly is hanging in there. Curl up with her tonight, give her a nice long massage, and tell her how much you love her.
And I'm sorry that all this shit comes down to money. As if it were not already bad enough.
Hey Suzanne,
So glad Kaly is still hanging on. Hope she's feeling even better now and totally enjoying her family.
Maybe this might be too sad for you, but Shelby @ 'The Great Big If'

lost her dog Kyra, and had a very wonderful post and video tribute to her.
I couldn't watch the full video cause I was crying like a baby.
The strangest thing, I had a dream about you--well your blog-- last night. Was a good blog post.
Wishing you all the very best,
Anna
I wish only the best for your sweet Kaly and hope that her days with you, whether short or long at this point, are filled with more love, as I'm sure they will be. It's a cruel thing to be faced with money issues when you want the best for your sweet dog, but also want to build your family. I've been there as my Kyra had many health issues before we said goodbye to her. Best of luck on IVF #2 and I hope that the money is worked out. Keeping you in my thoughts...
Oh, I really hope Kaly recovers soon. Sorry to hear this. I hope IVF#2 works. Saying lots of prayers for you...Btw, it was a balmy 48 degrees here today. First day above freezing in a long time!
